Hunter and Fielder Summy built Vybwear from time spent in Jamaica, inspired by the island's culture of gratitude, lush forests, and brilliant waters.
The catalyst came in 2020 when Covid forced a handful of sponsors to drop out of the Jamaica Open. The Summy family had a logo that resonated with the culture, but at the time it was tied to their local villa.
They saw an opening and moved fast. They created tee gifts and polos with the Vybman logo. Locals, tournament attendees, and players started requesting more. That led to what is now Vybwear.
The Tryall Club, home of the Jamaica Open, played a big role in shaping the brand’s color palette and design language. They’ve been a sponsor every year since.

I got my hands on a few pieces recently. The Tradewind Hoodie stood out immediately. There's a small magnet in the back that keeps the hood in place. Simple detail that makes a big difference on course.

Vybwear has been making noise in DTC and now has their sights set on green grass. They have already had some quick wins.
I asked Hunter and Fielder to describe the moment they knew they had something special. Without hesitation they mentioned selling out their intro order in the Quail Hollow pro shop.
Their first year in wholesale is already in motion. They have made significant investments to support it, most notably with RepSpark for order management and 360 Recruitment on the sales team side. The goal is 50 new accounts this calendar year. TPC Sawgrass and Pebble Beach are on the dream door list. I like their chances.
Quality product with a compelling story goes a long way in a crowded market. Vybwear keeps the line tight and lets the product do the talking. When you physically have it in your hands, it exceeds expectations.
Looking ahead, the Summy brothers are building Vybwear into a top-tier brand focused on versatile pieces for people who live in the sun. They’re constantly pushing fabric blends to improve performance, comfort, and feel.
